Edit Headers Visual Guide
Use Edit Headers to review or update the identifying and descriptive information associated with an inspection.
The fields and tabs displayed depend on the inspection template used for the session.
Select a highlighted area of the interface to open the related help topic.
How to use the Visual Guide
Move your pointer over the interface.
When you hover over a clickable area, it will be highlighted in POSM orange. Select the highlighted control to open the detailed help topic.
Edit Headers does not require Begin Editing
Users with editing permission can make changes directly after opening the Header Editor.
Unlike Edit Observations, there is no separate Begin Editing step.
Header Tabs
The Header Editor organizes inspection information across multiple tabs.
Depending on the inspection template, tabs may include areas such as:
- Coordinates
- Project Information
- Manhole
- Pipe
- Misc
- Custom
- Project
- Inspection Technology
- Inspection
- Count Groups
- NASSCO Ratings
The exact tabs and fields depend on the selected inspection template.

Header Data Fields
Header fields may contain information such as:
- Project information
- Asset information
- Pipe characteristics
- Locations
- Inspection date
- Surveyor information
- Inspection conditions
- Template-specific information
Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required.
Users with editing permission can update available fields directly.

Save Changes
After making changes, select Save to apply them.
Required fields must be completed before the changes can be saved.
Close Edit Headers
Select Close when you are finished reviewing or editing header information.
Where POSM Central returns depends on where Edit Headers was opened:
- If opened from Session Management, Close returns to Session Management.
- If opened from Edit Observations, Close returns to Edit Observations.
