POSM Data Sync — Upload Visual Guide

Use the Upload tab to send inspection sessions stored on the local computer to POSM Central.

Select a highlighted area of the interface to open the related help topic.

How to use the Visual Guide

Move your pointer over the interface.

When you hover over a clickable area, it will be highlighted in POSM orange. Select the highlighted control to open the detailed help topic.

Upload and Backup Tabs

Use the tabs at the top of POSM Data Sync to switch between the two primary workflows:

  • Upload — sends local inspection data to POSM Central.
  • Backup — retrieves inspection data from POSM Central to the local computer.

File Menu

The File menu provides application-level commands.

Available commands include:

  • Configure App Settings
  • Reconnect
  • Re-check Sync Status
  • Exit

Configure App Settings opens the POSM Data Sync application configuration.

Reconnect reconnects POSM Data Sync to POSM Central.

Re-check Sync Status checks the current synchronization status again.

Exit closes POSM Data Sync.

Session List

The Upload tab displays local inspection sessions available to be uploaded to POSM Central.

The session list can include information such as:

  • Session ID
  • POSM Unique ID
  • Project Name
  • Template Name
  • Date
  • Asset Location
  • Asset ID
  • Start ID
  • End ID
  • Direction
  • Size
  • Status

Select Sessions

Use the checkbox beside a session to select it for upload.

Use Select All when all displayed sessions should be selected.

You can also select a range of sessions:

  1. Select the first session checkbox.
  2. Hold Shift.
  3. Select another session checkbox.
  4. All sessions between the first and last selected session are selected.

Shift-select works on both the Upload and Backup tabs.


Organization Storage

The Upload tab displays the organization's current POSM Central storage usage.

The display shows:

X GB used of X GB (X% used)

Use this information to review available POSM Central storage before uploading additional inspection data.

Import

After selecting the sessions you want to upload, select Import to begin sending them to POSM Central.

Activity Log

The Activity Log displays Data Sync activity and messages associated with synchronization operations.

Use the log to review what POSM Data Sync is doing and identify synchronization messages or problems.

Data Sync Status


Application Version

The installed POSM Data Sync version is displayed in the lower-right corner of the application.

This information can be useful when working with POSM Support or determining which version of Data Sync is installed.
