POSM Water Level Graph Overlay for Sewer Inspections

A simple visual reference for estimating water depth during PACP and LACP inspections directly in the POSM inspection window.

POSM includes a water level graph overlay that gives operators a quick visual reference for estimating how full a pipe is during a live sewer inspection.

The overlay can be enabled at the start of a PACP or LACP inspection and left visible throughout the run, making it easier to monitor changing flow conditions and document water levels consistently.

How the Water Level Graph Works

When enabled, POSM displays a lined graphic along the bottom of the inspection window that indicates the approximate water level inside the pipe. The overlay is marked in 5% increments, giving operators an easy visual reference as flow conditions change.

  • Quick visual estimate of water depth as a percentage of pipe height
  • 5% increment markings for more consistent observations
  • Ideal for tracking changing conditions between repeated inspections

Combine Water Level and Clock Position Overlays

The water level overlay is one of several visual tools available in POSM. Operators can also toggle on the clock position graph—a circular reference that makes it easy to document the clock position of defects, taps, and other features.

Used together, these overlays give the operator a clearer picture of what’s happening in the pipe and help produce more consistent, repeatable condition assessments.

Using the Water Level Graph Overlay

The water level graph overlay is available in current POSM inspection software. Operators can enable the overlay during an inspection when a visual water-level reference is helpful.

If you need assistance enabling the feature, confirming that your POSM installation supports it, or updating an older installation, contact POSM Technical Support. Our team can help verify your software version and walk your operators through the available inspection overlays.
