Combine Upstream and Downstream Runs Into One Inspection

The POSM Merge Sessions feature allows two related CCTV inspection runs—such as upstream and downstream inspections of the same pipe segment—to be combined into a single inspection record.

This can make it easier to review the full segment, prepare final reports, and deliver one organized inspection record instead of managing separate sessions for each direction.

When to Use Merge Sessions

  • When a pipe segment must be inspected in two passes from opposite directions.
  • When an obstruction prevents a complete inspection from one end and the crew re-enters from the opposite end.
  • When one final inspection record is preferred for review, reporting, or data delivery.

How Merge Sessions Works

  • Select the two sessions that represent the related inspection runs.
  • Use the Merge Sessions function in POSM.
  • POSM combines the applicable inspection information into one consolidated record.

The merged inspection can then be used for review, reporting, export, and other downstream POSM workflows.

Why Merge Sessions Can Simplify Reporting

Split inspections are common when access, pipe length, obstructions, or field conditions prevent a complete run from one direction. Keeping those runs as separate sessions can make review and final reporting more cumbersome.

Merge Sessions gives users a way to organize those related runs into a single inspection record, reducing confusion and making it easier for office staff, engineers, and clients to work with the completed inspection.
