Clearer Manhole Data Entry

Manhole inspections involve detailed observations across multiple parts of the structure, including the chimney, cone, wall, bench, channel, and other components. POSM can display supporting manhole graphics directly within the data entry workflow to give operators a visual reference while coding the inspection.

These images can make it easier to identify the appropriate structure component and help operators apply inspection terminology more consistently.

How the Images Help

  • Provide a visual reference for different parts of the manhole structure.
  • Help reduce uncertainty when selecting observation locations.
  • Support new operators who are learning MACP terminology and structure components.
  • Encourage a more consistent data-entry workflow between operators.

Designed for NASSCO MACP Workflows

MACP inspections require operators to identify and document conditions within specific areas of the manhole structure. By placing visual references alongside the data entry fields, POSM gives operators additional context while they complete the inspection.

The images complement the existing POSM MACP data entry tools rather than replacing operator training or the NASSCO coding standard.

Using Manhole Images in POSM

Availability of the manhole image layouts can depend on the POSM version, template, and configuration being used. If you do not see the visual manhole references in your current setup, POSM Support can review your installation and help determine what is available.
